Do you find yourself each day being moved further and further away from the principles and purpose that inspired your pursuit of a career in the legal profession in the first place?
CCLP members pursue the hard work for social change to demonstrate a practice truly promoting and upholding constitutional and civil rights. CCLP’s priorities and positions are determined by the local grass-roots groupings and organizations of low-paid workers and not by exterior funding sources. CCLP accepts no government funding.
Why Join NCCLP
NCCLP enables legal professionals to promote legal representation as a right rather than a luxury few can afford, through an ethical framework of pro bono assistance to low-income workers. CCLP’s efforts are unique because we unite legal professionals and resources with grassroots organizing drives that deal with everyday problems affecting those workers. We fight for the ability within the legal profession to promote social purposes and best practices of law in relation to the needs of the majority of the population.
It takes strong organization to make change, bringing together legal professionals and our allies. Membership is your chance to be part of making it happen.
Receive and Write for Verdict Magazine
NCCLP members receive NCCLP’s quarterly publication,Verdict, and are encouraged to suggest topics of concern, which may result in articles for Verdict, but could also lead to pursuit of new campaigns in NCCLP’s fight for the ability to practice law consistent with the ethics of our profession.
Access to Master Classes, Presentations and Conferences
NCCLP members have access to CCLP’s online and in-person program of Master Classes by legal experts in aspects of the law that touch upon areas of concern to CCLP. These classes are geared to increasing the attorneys’ knowledge and skill in those areas, for use not only in their private practices, but also for legal advice and education with CCLP.
NCCLP members also have access to CCLP’s online and in-person presentations and conferences covering the legal consequences flowing from complex systemic problems in our communities. We provide involvement by legal professionals and others active in or searching for legal and organizational solutions to the problems facing our low-income communities.
